Photorejuvenation with IPL in Tenerife and Las Palmas

Questions Photorejuvenation with IPL

What is IPL Photorejuvenation?

IPL stands for “intense pulsed light” in English. It is an incredibly beneficial procedure for the skin, which has been designed to stimulate and encourage the healing and regeneration of the skin through the application of a broad spectrum light.

What is Intense Pulsed Light Therapy (IPL ™)?

Intense pulsed light therapy is performed with an intense beam of broad spectrum light (unlike lasers, which operate within a very specific wavelength) directed towards the dermis, that is, the innermost layer of the skin. At the same time that it stimulates the production of collagen, this procedure removes damaged and photo-aged skin.

What benefits does pulsed light therapy bring us?

Photorejuvenation therapy improves skin color, consistency, and texture all at the same time. Additionally, with IPL ™ therapy, patients can receive a single type of treatment for multiple skin conditions rather than having to undergo multiple procedures.

What can be treated by photorejuvenation with IPL ™?

It can treat a wide variety of skin problems, from blemishes and redness on the skin, to acne. In addition, by stimulating collagen production, IPL ™ treatments also help to smooth skin texture, close large pores, and eliminate wrinkles.

Is photorejuvenation with IPL ™ safe?

Photorejuvenation with IPL ™ is one of the safest and most painless among light-based facial treatments. The side effects that patients may suffer are mild, such as redness in the treated area, swelling or inflammation. Effects that usually disappear within a few hours or days in some cases.

What results can I expect from IPL ™ treatment?

Depending on the objective for which the treatment is carried out, we can expect some results or others. In general, results can be visible within a few days of therapy.

If, for example, photorejuvenation was performed to combat acne, the redness will disappear after a few days and an improvement will be noticed as the days go by.

If the patient's goal is to stimulate collagen production, the redness may disappear sooner and a smoother skin texture will be visible within a few days.

Although recovery after photorejuvenation with IPL ™ is fast, it is important to remember that it is vitally important to ensure adequate recovery, the use of sunscreen for a minimum of 2 weeks.

How many sessions will it take?

The sessions will vary depending on each case, but several sessions may be recommended depending on the area to be treated and according to the severity of the condition that each patient presents. In general, between 3 and 5 sessions are usually recommended.
